While there weren’t any exterior shots during the episode, the distinctive red and white interior gives the store’s identity away to anyone who went into a Towers in the 1980’s.  Also, the brief glimpse at the clerk’s nametag that clearly reads, 'Towers’ is helpful.

Towers Department Stores have been defunct since 1990 when they were acquired by Zellers (which was recently acquired by Target).  Thanks to a blog about Towers history (Yes, really.  It’s here) and in a short but information loaded scene from Police Academy, I was able to establish that there was a store located at 447 Carlaw Avenue in the Riverdale Shopping Centre.  Based on this information it is fair to say that this store is very likely the shoot location for Episode 5.
