In 1960, Allied Towers opened in Scarborough, Ontario.

 

Eight years later, as a high school student, I joined Towers Department Stores as a part-time sales clerk.

 

Twenty-two years after that, I left.

 

Recently, while searching the Internet, I was surprised and disappointed to see little mention of Towers.

 

To be sure, there were many, many references to its demise.​ Other than that, not much else.

This website will attempt, slowly and over time, to put a face to a company that, on balance, treated me well and that I fondly remember -- especially the people I worked with.

​

Stretching from Ontario to the East Coast, Towers (Bonimart in Quebec) affected the working lives of many.
